2013 Orsianna Sauvignon Blanc, Redwood Valley suggested retail $17
The vineyards for Orsianna’s Sauvignon Blanc are located in Mendocino County’s Redwood Valley. A gap in the Coastal Range allows cool air to seep into the valley, resulting in a long, flavor-intensifying growing season. Absolutely delicious Sauvignon Blanc, flush with exotic citrus, fresh grapefruit and lime. A wine to take the place of Margaritas!
Redwood Valley is Mendocino County’s best-kept secret. It lies in the most northerly part of the county, tucked away among the ancient redwood trees and early morning fog.
This 100% stainless steel Sauvignon Blanc captures delicate, yet crisp flavors and tones. In the glass, the wine is very attractive, with a delicate, light yellow color. The nose is extremely floral, with hints of citrus, melon, pear, and fresh green apples. On the palette, it is medium-bodied and also offers delicate flavors of pears, apples, and melons, followed by grassy notes and citrus flavors. Finally, it leaves you with a bone-dry, delicate, very long, clean finish.
