2013 Orsianna Chardonnay, Mendocino suggested retail $17
Coming from one of California’s most temperate wine growing regions, Mendocino is well suited for the production of Chardonnay aiming for a fresher, lighter style. Unadorned by winemaking flourishes, flashy new oak, buttered-popcorn or crème brulée, it offers instead, pure and abundant naturally fresh fruit flavors of Bosc pear and white currant, inspired by the white wines of northern Italy.
Farmed according to bio-dynamic and organic principles, void of malolactic fermentation and held eight months in steel before release, Veritas has a conservative bouquet of whte tea and floral aromas that unfolds nicely with delicate touches of apple peelings and light minerality. The palate is well-balanced with fine acidity and harmonious flavors of honeydew melon and tree-fruits.
